About

This is our story…

PM Sports Foundation was established in 2017 by Ghanaian tennis professional and philanthropist, Peter Mensah. He wanted to give back to underprivileged children by showing them the life-long opportunities he knows to be accessible through tennis.

At PM Sports Foundation, we believe that sports, combined with education, is a powerful formula to change lives. Together with the Ghana Tennis Federation and Ghana Education Services, our primary goal is to introduce the sport of tennis at a young age and provide educational growth, training, and competitive opportunities to aspiring young athletes.

What started as a grassroots effort has now grown to serve approximately 5,000 children throughout the country. PM Sports Foundation operates in several regions around Ghana including Greater Accra, Central, Savannah and Eastern Regions. We strive for gender balance and inclusivity in all our programs.

Our Tennis in Schools Programme introduces tennis to a broad spectrum of Ghanaian school children through in-school coaching and school competitions. Some of these children join our Club Link Programme for continued tennis development. They are also introduced to our Social Impact Programme where they gain life skills, personal development, mentoring and career guidance. The highest-level players are invited to join our Performance Programme. These players will receive consistent and individualized coaching to help them reach their goals. Through our Inclusive Programme, every child can thrive, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. We have invested in specialised equipment such as sports wheelchairs and have trained a number of coaches in adaptive training techniques. There is a special emphasis on bringing tennis to the deaf community.
